Game of the day: Plants vs. Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies is a strategy game where you fight off Zombies with the help of plants. It sounds like a horrible game, but it is not bad at all. You start of with a few simple plants in your arsenal, and as you progress trough the levels you are rewarded with more. However the zombies also evolve for each level. I love this game and have already spent far to many hours with it. Extra creds for the humor displayed not only in the funny graphics.

Game of the day: Lander Game

Lander Game is a version of Lunar Lander. The goal is to land a lunar module on the moon. Land at the right place, at the right speed without burning all your fuel. There is nothing special about this game, controls or graphics. If you liked Lunar Lander you will like Lander Game. Personally I find it addictive in a very scary way.

Game of the day: Racing Live

This sure is one odd game. It is hard to place Racing Live in any category of games. But I would say it is some kind of an on-line-turn-based-strategy-game. There are 2 main ways to get money, you race opponents or you complete different tasks. For the money you can buy improvements to your cars, new cars or buildings that will generate more money. You can build a clan and become very powerful. There seems to be no end to the game, some people are almost level 300 and every level take some time to pass. It’s a little bit like a low budget version of WOW, but without any graphics. This is not the best game I have ever played but the online functionality makes it good enough. I have a friend that is completely lost in this game, but that will never happen to me.

Application of the day: Screen Faker

If you are the kind of guy that likes practical jokes, this is the app for you. Screen Faker is something you should install on your friends phone when he is not watching and then laugh at him when he thinks his phone is broken. The point is though, you have to be mildly retarded to be fooled by this application. But if you really like practical jokes and your friends are mildly retarded, wow, what a treat this is for you and your friends. Go ahead and download, you silly you.

Game of the day: Crazy Snowboard

A game based on snowboarding, eh? Well not bad, not bad at all I have to say. I had low expectations when I fired this game up, but I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing that meets the eye is the very nice graphics that is extremely well crafted. Second thing on my mind, the controls. Can you really create a snowboarding game for a mobile device that has good controls? I mean, every other good snowboarding game I have plays have been for consoles with lots of buttons and steering devices. But the controls for Crazy Snowboard is great considering the limitations of a mobile device. The is one button for jumping, easy. On the left side of the screen there is a button for controlling movement. So you jump, and then you do your fabulous tricks with the other button. There are 2 modes in witch you can play this game, “Free Ride” and “Missions”, kind of self explanatory. Even though I like this game and I do think that the execution is nothing less than brilliant, there is a catch. The idea behind the game is to weak, and you will pretty soon grow tired of it. But well worth the download anyway.

Application of the day: LaserReflections

A nice strategy game where the aim is to light up light-bulbs. To your help you have some mirrors and prisms. That is just about all that LaserReflections is about. Nothing really impresses me about this game. The graphics are weak at best. The controls are a little bit clumsy, but even so I think that the idea of the game is pretty good. Because somehow I find myself constantly occupied with trying to solve the next puzzle, and the next, and the next. So to conlude: LaserReflections is a great idea but deserves a better packaging.

Application of the day: Scanner Radio

Scanner Radio is a pretty basic application that allows you to listen to various police radios, Air controls, Amateur radio and stuff like that. The application covers cities in Australia, Austria, Canada, Chile, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, UK and the US. After listening a while to the LAPD, I realised that not everything they communicate about is interesting. Even less interesting if you live in Stockholm, Sweden. But I still have it installed on my device, there might come a time when I am so bored that I want to listen to it again.

Application of the day: Air Control

The basic concept of Air Control is to take on the role of a air traffic controller. Different kinds of aircraft need to be landed on different strips. To do this you give them a flight path, you simply direct them by drawing a path with your finger. The graphics are really not that impressive, but then again they don’t really need to be. This game has nothing to do with realism. It is a strategic real-time puzzle for all ages. Highly addictive.

Application of the day: Copter

Copter has the look and feel of a VIC-20 game. The graphics are horrible. The idea seems to be that you guide your helicopter trough a cave. Ever so often there will come a strange block in your path that you will have to fly over or below. You control the helicopter by pressing the screen to go up, and release to go down. This is not a good game. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!
